Formulas Not Working with OS X 10.10 (List)

Thought it'd be perhaps handy to have a list of formulas not working with OS X 10.10 yet.

Errors generated will be linked to where possible. The vast majority of the errors will need to be fixed upstream and should be reported upstream consequently.

Terminology key:

• DP - Developer Preview.
• PB - Public Beta.
• GM - Golden Master.
• S - Seed.
• SR1 - Stable Release 1

Still broken:

• pdf-tools - DP2 to Yosemite SR1.
• emscripten. - DP3 to Yosemite SR1.
• fltk - DP1 - Yosemite SR1.
• neko - ? - Yosemite SR1. Reported Upstream.
• subversion --universal --java - GM1 - Yosemite SR1
• valgrind - Unlikely to be fixed in the near future due to upstream's development timetable. The formula will now warn of this.

Were broken, Now functional again:

• qt - (stable & --HEAD), Broken DP1-DP7. Fixed by this commit
• qt5 - --HEAD, Broken DP1-DP7. Fixed by this upstream commit. Stable, Broken DP1-DP8. Proposed patch here. Fixed by this commit
• wxwidgets - NSExtensionProvider. Proposed Upstream Patch. Broken DP1-DP7. Patch merged into Homebrew here.
• bup - DP6- GM1 S3. Fixed by this commit.
• phantomjs - Broken from DP1-Yosemite SR1. Fixed by 1.9.8 release.
• iperf3 - DP6 - Yosemite SR1. Original Issue here. ``` Fix in this PR.
• uwsgi - DP1 - Yosemite SR1. Fixed by this PR.
• libssh - Broken from DP1 - GM1 S3. Upstream issue. Fixed by this commit.
• octave - "homebrew/science", DP3-GM1 S3.
• osxfuse - Was mostly working on DP3. Broken again in DP4. Still broken DP5. Works from DP6. Broken by Xcode 6.1, Patch here. Fixed again from DP7 here.
• mongodb - Broken from DP1-DP8. Temporary patch, Reported Upstream. Fixed here.
• xapian - Functional from DP4.
• cclive - Functional from DP4.
• libquvi - Functional from DP4.
• optipng. - Broken from DP2-GM1 S2. Fixed by this commit.
• clucene - Issue here. 10.9 Patch extended to 10.10 patch, formula now works.
• MacVim - NSExtensionProvider. Functional from DP4.
• mariadb - Functional from DP4.
• closure-compiler. Reported Upstream. Functional from DP5.
• ossp-uuid - DP5. Works again from DP6.
• pango 1.36.5 - New version 1.36.6 fixes Yosemite issues.
• mit-scheme - DP1-DP8. Won't be fixed till Xcode is out of beta. See issue here. Now works because the latest Xcode is no longer tagged with the -Beta label.
• gcc - Reported Upstream. Patch available. Broken DP1-DP6. Homebrew has applied the upstream patch and the formula now works again.
• libmemcached - DP3-DP6. Patch here. Fixed by this commit, Now functional again.
• Mercurial - DP7 - Broken by Apple's Python bug in DP7. Should be fixed by DP8. Issue here. Fixed by DP8.
• postgresql - Functional from DP4. Broken again from DP7. Fixed in DP8!

mongodb also has this issue, but I think it's caused by scons during the install.

@jarinudom can you track down if this is an issue in SCons or in MongoDB's specific SCons scripts?

It seems to be MongoDB's specific scripts. Scons as an individual package installs fine on 10.10.

I think it has to do with scons actually running though, not just installing. I'm trying out the gringo formula since it requires scons to build.

brew install gringo worked just fine, so it must be something specific to MongoDB's scons script.

Edit: I haven't looked up how to make a bottle, but it seems like having a Yosemite bottle available would work around that problem.

Bottles are created by the Brew Test Bot, which isn't set up to create Yosemite bottles yet. @MikeMcQuaid handles that I believe. (Homebrew's policy is to not support a new OS until it is released to everyone though).

I also can't get xapian to this list. This failed for me with brew install notmuch

These are currently giving me all the error, but it may be a config issue and nothing wrong with brew...
