<dev> Waybar automatically restarts

I updated to the reworked version of Waybar, and then I overwrote all the contents in .config/hypr.

When I want to temporarily hide Waybar, I press CTRL_R + ALT, but Waybar restarts itself—I can’t hide it anymore.

Which configuration is this related to? I checked my keybind file, and even after changing it to the following, it still doesn’t work:

bindd = ALT_R, Control_R, toggle waybar, exec, killall waybar || waybar # toggle waybar without reloading, this is faster

Is there some process that keeps monitoring Waybar? I’m not sure when this changed—it’s been a while since I last updated Hyprland.

yes this is intentional.

The rework will address 2 major issues.

1. waybar just dies randomly.

our new waybar.py script handler had a --watch option to always check if waybar is still running or not. This way it can revive waybar if it dies randomly.

2. Hiding waybar
   We got 2 options to hide waybar:
   a. kill it then respawn.
   works but is slow to launch and you lost all your notification history.
   b. Hide it using a signal but Hyprland doesn't know about this signal and still displays a blur even waybar is hiding.

What I propose is we Handle the hiding part too.
Basically add our own lock mechanism for waybar. When a hide is toggled waybar is launched and/or hidden and also the blur from hyprland.
And when toggled waybar should be back and enabling back the blur effect if set.

So, this function has not been developed yet, right?
The current situation is like this:

✅ Waybar crash automatic recovery mechanism has been implemented
⚠️ The elegant hidden mechanism (no kill, no notification, no blur) is still under development and is not available yet
