[Bug]: wallbash hot reload

Description

while wallbash is active gtk apps won't change theme unless i reopen it manually the icons work fine also dolphin and some other apps require manual refresh with each theme change even when wallbash is not set to theme

Steps to Reproduce

1. theme change while wallbash active
2. check gtk and qt apps

Expected Behavior

apps to change theme with manual intervention

NOTE: QT apps need to be restarted to change themes.

Is thunar not changing the theme?

was this always the behavior of qt apps ? and for gtk apps thunar as an example worked as i described in the issue plus i have another gtk app called folitate that need to restart in order to change theme in any case ( wallbash active or not)

Yes, unless a QT app is designed for hot reload.

i think dolphin was hot reloading before and for gtk apps thunar and putty as i mentioned before would hot reload only when wallbash is set to theme and would not hot reload when set to auto or any mode other than theme

Nah, dolphin only has a hook that restarts dolphin on theme changed. Like killing the process and opening that again!

For example I once had serious stuff going on on my dolphin instance and because I changed themes the dolphin session was killed! I preferred actual work rather than just ricing it.

Though if you're willing to have that feature back, I can help you bring it back.

nah im not changing theme each second so it's fine for i just found it weird for thunar to not have it since it used to just magically change theme without any interruption i'd appreciate if i can fix thunar issue and most gtk apps genrealy

that's the intended behavior without reloading thunar myself

wallbash mode means it strictly follows the wallpaper.

auto mode tries to figure out if light or dark modes

wallbash auto,light,dark follows wallbash-gtk which changes colors depending on the wallpaper.

So theme modes follow the set gtk theme.

There are also templates that are activated always.

Yes, I recommend thinking of wallbash as a separate theme which happened to have a light and dark mode and follows wallpapers.

So you have your themes plus wallbash theme. Something like that

This might only take effect on wallbash mode.

It has something to do with how we refresh dconf database .
