Description

Context

CodeGPT ("CodeGPT: Chat & AI Agents", DanielSanMedium.dscodegpt on the VS Code Marketplace) is a widely installed AI coding assistant extension with agentic chat. Like GitHub Copilot Chat and Continue, it likely stores conversation state in VS Code's per-workspace state.vscdb SQLite files under workspaceStorage/globalStorage, keyed by its own extension ID.

What to do

  • Install CodeGPT, run a chat/agent session, and find which key(s) hold its conversation JSON — mirror how GitHubCopilotSource and ContinueSource locate their own extension keys in src/agentsweep/sources/_extended.py.
  • Add a CodeGptSource, register it in SOURCES as codegpt.
  • Add CODEGPT_MARKERS to preflight.py.
  • Add an anonymized fixture and round-trip test under tests/fixtures/codegpt/.
  • Update the agent count in ui/widgets.py's menu_options() and README's supported-agents list.

Acceptance criteria

Same round-trip pattern as the other VS Code-based sources: a planted secret in the fixture is found by iter_strings and cleanly redacted by apply_redactions.
