Generate files in transient directory, not in the data directory #5
Description
A lot of data files are being generated in the data/ directory, which (supposedly) holds the source data files. Such files should be generated in a build/ or similar directory that is not committed to the repository, and which has no risk of inadvertently overwriting (or deleting on cleanup) source (data) files.
