Salvage of #19296 onto current main.\n\n## Summary\nThe module docstring and function docstring still referenced Gemini Flash as the summarization backend, which has been stale since the April 2026 main-model-first auxiliary routing change. Reflect that the auxiliary session_search model is configurable and that 'auto' uses the main chat model by default.\n\n## Validation\nManual review; scope is documentation/frontend/no-test.\n\nOriginal PR: #19296
