Bank rejects collection order, if file contains a transaction with amount 0 (zero) €

If a pain 008.001.02 file contains a transaction with amount 0 (zero) €

• CiviCRM raises no error or warning while creating the file
• at least the GLS Gemeinschaftsbank rejects the file with the error message, that the XML schema is wrong

It would be good if either CiviCRM raises a warning and / or the transaction is automatically removed from the file during creation.

Interesting. How did you even create a SEPA mandate with instalment amount zero?

In any case - to solve this I can think of two options:

• simply not include zero sum collection orders when generating a file. There should potentially be a warning message about this.
• make sure there is no zero amount mandates in the system. My feeling is that this would be much harder to enforce.

I created the SEPA mandates using the API v3 while migrating data from another system.

I think your first suggestion would be sufficient, simply not include the corresponding orders and warn about it.

@GFF-DS Would you be willing to fund the adjustment outlined above? I would estimate 4-6h of work.

As far as I can see this has not been observed on any other system, so I feel it's unlikely you can share the costs of the development with somebody else.

No, as we now are aware of it and have an easy workaround (delete the mandates), I don't think it will be our priority to fund this bugfix.

If you think the problem only occurs on our systems, feel free to close the issue.
