App Removal via CLI

Win11Debloat includes the option to remove apps through the command-line, instead of going through the normal user interface. For example, you can quickly remove specific apps by launching the script with the -RemoveApps parameter and supplying a comma separated list of apps to remove with the -Apps parameter. The default selection of apps, as defined in the Apps.json file, will be removed if you omit the -Apps parameter entirely.

Important

Please note that the app names supplied with the -Apps have to match the AppId of the app as it's written in the Apps.json file. Any apps that are not found in the Apps.json file will not be uninstalled, to prevent accidental removal of the wrong app.

Example of removing the Phone Link and Cross Device Experience apps:

& ([scriptblock]::Create((irm "https://debloat.raphi.re/"))) -RemoveApps -Apps "Microsoft.YourPhone,MicrosoftWindows.CrossDevice"

It's also possible to remove certain subsets of apps, such as removing gaming-related apps and HP specific apps.

Example of removing gaming-related apps:

& ([scriptblock]::Create((irm "https://debloat.raphi.re/"))) -RemoveGamingApps

By default, Win11Debloat will remove apps for all users. It is however possible to only remove apps for a specific user by providing the username (or CurrentUser) with the -AppRemovalTarget parameter. Example:

& ([scriptblock]::Create((irm "https://debloat.raphi.re/"))) -RemoveApps -AppRemovalTarget "Raphire"

Below is a table with all parameters related to app removal that are supported by the script. On this page you can find a complete list of all supported parameters.

Parameter Description
-AppRemovalTarget <USERNAME> This allows you specify for which user(s) apps are removed. It's also possible to enter AllUsers or CurrentUser to remove apps for all users or the current user respectively. If this parameter is omitted, apps will be removed for all users. If you specify a specific user, the user must have logged on at least once.
-RemoveApps Remove the apps specified with the -Apps parameter. If the -Apps parameter is omitted the default selection of apps is removed.
-Apps <APPS> The selection of apps to remove, specified as a comma separated list. If the -Apps parameter is omitted the default selection of apps is removed. Example usage: -RemoveApps -Apps "Microsoft.OneDrive,Microsoft.Whiteboard"
-RemoveAppsCustom
Remove all apps specified in the CustomAppsList file. No apps will be removed if this file does not exist. IMPORTANT: You can generate your custom apps list by running the script with the -RunAppsListGenerator parameter as explained here.
-RemoveCommApps Remove the Mail, Calendar, and People apps.
-RemoveW11Outlook Remove the new Outlook for Windows app.
-RemoveGamingApps Remove the Xbox App and Xbox Gamebar.
-RemoveHPApps Remove preinstalled HP apps.

App Selection Interface

When running the script in CLI mode (e.g. launching the script with -CLI parameter) you have the option to select what apps to remove via the app selection interface. As shown below, you'll be greeted with an interface where you can select any apps that you want to remove. All apps that the script would normally remove are selected by default, but you can easily select/deselect all with the tickbox at the top. If you only want to see apps that are installed, you can tick the option Only show installed apps in the bottom right.

Generating a custom apps list

Any time you use the app selection interface, the script will generate a CustomAppsList file. Win11Debloat can use this file the next time you run the script to remove the same set of apps without needing to select them again. This makes it easy to apply your preferred app removals consistently across multiple machines. It’s also handy if you want to run the script regularly to keep your system clean.

Note

The CustomAppsList file is saved to the Config folder. If you used the Quick method to launch the script, this file can be found at %temp%\Win11Debloat\Config

If you wish to generate your CustomAppsList file without actually removing any apps, you can simply launch the script with the -RunAppsListGenerator parameter.

Example:

& ([scriptblock]::Create((irm "https://debloat.raphi.re/"))) -RunAppsListGenerator

Using your custom apps list

To remove your custom selection of apps (again) you can run the script with the -RemoveAppsCustom parameter.

Example:

& ([scriptblock]::Create((irm "https://debloat.raphi.re/"))) -RemoveAppsCustom

Please refer to the section above for more information about using parameters.
