A collection of experimental smart contracts, tech demos, and proof-of-concept implementations for the XELIS blockchain. These contracts showcase various capabilities of the XELIS Virtual Machine (XVM) and Silex language but are not part of the core XELIS Forge suite.
This repository serves as:
- Learning Resource: Examples demonstrating XELIS smart contract development patterns
- Experimentation Sandbox: Testing ground for new ideas and contract designs
- Reference Implementations: Technical demonstrations of specific features or algorithms
- Community Contributions: Experimental contracts from the XELIS developer community
These contracts are experimental and NOT production-ready. They are provided for educational and experimental purposes only. Do not deploy these contracts to mainnet without extensive testing, auditing, and modifications for your specific use case.
This repository contains various proof-of-concept implementations including:
- Novel DeFi primitives and mechanisms
- Privacy-focused contract patterns using Homomorphic Encryption
- Gaming and NFT experiments
- Governance models and voting systems
- Cross-contract interaction examples
- Performance benchmarks and optimization techniques
- Creative uses of XELIS's unique blockchain features
- Language: Silex (XELIS's Rust-inspired smart contract language)
- VM: XELIS Virtual Machine (XVM)
- Blockchain: XELIS BlockDAG with Homomorphic Encryption
- Features: Confidential assets, encrypted balances, deterministic execution
Each proof-of-concept is contained in its own directory with:
- Source code in Silex
- Documentation explaining the concept
- Known limitations and considerations
- Example usage and test cases (where applicable)
We welcome experimental contributions from the community! If you have an interesting proof-of-concept to share:
- Fork the repository
- Create a directory for your POC with a descriptive name
- Include clear documentation explaining:
- What the contract demonstrates
- How it works
- Known limitations
- Potential use cases
- Add a README specific to your POC
- Submit a Pull Request
- Document thoroughly: Explain the concept, implementation, and any trade-offs
- Mark limitations clearly: Be honest about what doesn't work or needs improvement
- Include comments: Help others understand your code and approach
- Test where possible: Show that the core concept functions as intended
Potential proof-of-concepts that fit this repository:
- Experimental AMM formulas (constant sum, concentrated liquidity, etc.)
- Proof of Work token distrabution
- Decentralized identity or reputation systems
- Novel token standards or wrappers
- Data oracles
- Algorithmic stablecoins or monetary experiments
- Gaming mechanics (random loot, player interactions, etc.)
- Prediction markets or betting protocols
- Zero-knowledge proof integrations
- Hash functions
CRITICAL: These contracts are:
- Not audited
- Potentially vulnerable
- Experimental and unstable
- Not intended for production use
- May contain incomplete or inefficient implementations
Never deploy POCs to mainnet without:
- Comprehensive security audits
- Extensive testing and validation
- Code review by experienced developers
- Understanding of all potential risks
- Proper modifications for production use
- XELIS Documentation
- Silex Language Documentation
- XELIS Virtual Machine
- XELIS Blockchain Repository
- XELIS Forge Contracts - Production examples
- XELIS's privacy features mean balances and amounts are encrypted when transferring between users, however private deposits are currently not a feature. Interacting with contracts is in the clear.
- The XVM sandbox provides security guarantees, but logical vulnerabilities must still be addressed
- Test extensively on testnet before mainnet deployment
All smart contracts in this repository are licensed under the GNU General Public License v3.0 (GPL-3.0).
These smart contracts are provided as-is. Always conduct thorough testing and audits before deploying to production. The XELIS Forge team is not responsible for any losses incurred through the use of these contracts.
