Abybyo

Abybyo is a browser extension for saving text you find while browsing so you can study it later.

Highlight a passage on any page, add it to your study list, and come back to it from the popup. Each clip keeps the original wording, the site it came from, and the date you saved it.

The long-term goal is to turn those clips into Anki cards so review happens with spaced repetition, not a forgotten list.

How to use

  1. Select text on a webpage.
  2. Right-click and choose Add To Study.
  3. Open the Abybyo popup to see your saved selections.
  4. Click a clip (or its site name) to return to the original page.
  5. Delete clips you no longer need.

Current features

  • Save selected text from any site with a context menu action
  • Popup list of saved selections
  • Source site and saved date on each clip
  • One-click return to the original page
  • Local storage only — clips stay on your machine

Roadmap

  • Anki cards from saved text. Generate study cards from what you clipped so you can review it in Anki.
  • Card editing before export (front/back, extra notes, tags)
  • Export to Anki (.apkg or AnkiConnect)
  • Optional cloze / Q&A generation from a passage
  • Decks or tags grouped by site or topic
  • Search and filter in the popup
