Hi Paul, If I understand you wish to rename Enide Studio to AnIDE Studio because you wish to host AngularJS Eclipse? If it that, I think your idea very good. I like it. Regards Angelo |
Not only because of AngularJS, but yes it will be featured. And Enide Studio won't go. Do you think AnIDE is descriptive enough or should some other word be added? |
I would like just know if your proposition is was to rename "Tern IDE" to "AnIDE" or it was in your side "AnIDE Studio".
I like very lot your proposition with "AnIDE" As you said, it means a lot of thing (An(gularJS) IDE, (An)ode IDE, etc) |
Tern IDE is already there, let's use new words for new things. Just like naming everything @Nodeclipse is confusing, and Enide Studio was already shaped. |
Hi, I find AnIDE a bit too neutral. From the name we don't know what It does. I think It would be better to include JS (mostly a JS IDE) or web in the Why not something like JSeclipse or Webclipse ? My 2 cents.... 2014-03-20 10:40 GMT+01:00 Paul Verest [email protected]:

AnIDE.JS ? Then How to indicate that it also for Java ? At some point, I came to not using eclipse inside a name. |
AngularJS nick name being 'ng' — like in ng-model — wouldn't 'ng' more appropriate than 'An' to prefix its name? 'ngEclipse' plugin I would say - as I don't see the point in hidding Eclipse behind 'IDE'. For myself, I am interested in this project not as a plain IDE but as an eclipse plugin I could add to my current Eclipse stack. Next to Nodeclipse and a few other packages... |
+1 for ngEclipse, I like It. 2014-03-21 21:30 GMT+01:00 Patrick Perroud [email protected]:

ngEclipse for the AngularJS plugin and ngNodeclipse for the combined package? The former providing AngularJS projects editor && code validators and the latter integrating the former in existing Nodeclipse IDE? This would not satisfy Java developers requirements but would fit nodejs developers like myself very well... |
Hi Patrick It is not so easy to use Eclipse inside a name, see Stand-alone Eclipse package is just one more way to distribute the plugins. On 22.03.2014 4:30, Patrick Perroud wrote:

@paulvi can I close this issue? |
yes, there is no need to keep it open. |
Thank's @paulvi |
BTW just found that Tern is "Terns are seabirds in the family Sternidae that have a worldwide distribution and are normally found near the sea, rivers or wetlands."" https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tern Anide is Spanish for nest http://translate.google.com/#es/en/anide So it is all within birds theme |
Hello @angelozerr @pascalleclercq
Most people see @Nodeclipse as Eclipse plugin for Node.js, and I came with Enide as IDE that combines several plugins (including Nodeclipse). Enide is used for Eclipse package Enide Studio. So basically there are Nodeclipse and Enide names.
After a lot of thoughts, here comes Anide an IDE or AnIDE.
Good thing for this name is that a lot meaning can be put it, but it still stays IDE:
e.g. a Node.js IDE, Android, a new IDE, A (as 1st) IDE, AngularJS IDE, Angelo IDE and so on.
Before Maven and Gradle plugins, there were JavaScript only efforts, but JSIDE sounds not good, and as most Eclipse users use Java more (including me), there is no point of making JavaScript only Eclipse-based IDE.
