Themes rendering incorrectly (unreadable text) on MacBook Pro 2015

Description

I am encountering an issue where the UI themes in OpenCode are broken on my MacBook Pro 2015. I have tried switching to multiple different themes, but all of them render incorrectly. The text colors are completely off, making the text mostly invisible or extremely hard to read against the background.

Steps to reproduce

1. Open OpenCode on a MacBook Pro 2015.
2. Apply or switch to any theme.
3. Observe the terminal output; the text colors clash or become transparent/invisible, and the UI elements look broken.

We'd need to know what terminal you're using to say much about this, all you've told us is the shell (which doesn't have very much relevance to colouring). It works well for me on iTerm2, and I've also tested it with good results on Ghostty, Kitty and Rio.

I'm experiencing the same issue on my MacBook Pro 16-inch (2019) running macOS Sonoma 14.7.8 (23H730).

Environment details:

• Terminal: Apple Terminal (macOS built-in)
• $TERM: xterm-256color
• $TERM_PROGRAM: Apple_Terminal
• $COLORTERM: not set (empty)

The built-in macOS Terminal does not support Truecolor (24-bit color) and does not set $COLORTERM, which appears to be the root cause of the broken theme rendering.

Setting export COLORTERM=truecolor does not resolve the issue in Apple Terminal. However, switching to iTerm2 fixes the problem completely, themes render correctly there.
This suggests the issue is specific to Apple Terminal's color handling and cannot be worked around from within the shell alone.

Terminal.app is basically the worst terminal available for MacOS and he never rendered well.

I was having the same issue with macOS Terminal, then switched to Ghostty, and themes work great! can confirm this is a problem with Terminal.
