What's Wrong?
The Cowork tab is completely missing from the Claude desktop application. It does not appear anywhere in the interface and there is no visible way to access it.
Expected Behaviour
The Cowork tab should be present and accessible within the desktop application as normal.
Steps to Reproduce

Launch the Claude desktop app on Windows 11
Observe that the Cowork tab is absent from the navigation entirely
No error message is displayed — the tab is simply not there

Environment
App version: 1.2581.0 (f10398)
OS: Windows 11 Pro (x64)
Interface: Claude Desktop App
Logs
Checked Windows Event Viewer > Windows Logs > Application. No entries relating to Claude or Anthropic were found. Logs present were unrelated system and third-party application entries (WMI, VSS, Outlook).
Additional Notes
Full restart of both the application and the machine has been attempted. The issue persists.

What Should Happen?

The Cowork tab should be present and accessible within the Claude desktop application as normal.

Cowork is missing after a reboot.

Tried re-install (even "as administrator") on windows 11 pro. I get an error installation error. See log.

If it helps, in the top of the left hand collapsible area to the right of the chat are two tiny icons for cowork and code. I got here because it wasn't working but then pressed a bunch of buttons to see if the UX had changed and it has.
