I hope my method helps you:

1. Go to the release page to download the latest version of BroTab
2. Modify the manifest.json file:
   • File path: your-download/brotab-{version}/brotab/extension/chrome/manifest.json
   • Content:

3. Enable developer mode on Chrome's extension page
4. Install the local BroTab extension: your-download/brotab-{version}/brotab/extension/chrome
5. Modify the brotab_mediator.json file based on your browser type:
   • For Chromium:

     vim ~/.config/chromium/NativeMessagingHosts/brotab_mediator.json
     

   • For Google Chrome:

     vim ~/.config/google-chrome/NativeMessagingHosts/brotab_mediator.json
     

   • Content:

6. Keep extension service worker alive (fix extension not auto active issue):
