From v3.40 to v3.39 due to Add-on Text #7255

What's wrong?
After installing a fresh Orange v3.40 (Standalone installer (default), Orange3-3.40.0-x86_64.exe)), I get a running Orange in version 3.40. After then installing the Add-on Text (with the Add-on Manager available from the Menu (Options > Add-ons...) and restarting Orange, I get Orange in the version 3.39 as stated with Menu (Help > about) and the Add-on Text in version 1.16.3.

Now, in the Add-on Manager it is shown, that Orange3 is in version 3.39.0 and a version 3.40.0 is available.
After updating Orange3 to version 3.40 with the Add-on Manager, I get v3.40 of Orange. But now the Add-on Text is version 1.15.

(I double checks the Orange version by displaying the Widget Neighbors. There is a new option "Include reference example" in v3.40, which is not visible in v3.39.)

How can we reproduce the problem?

  • Unistall and Delete former versions of Orange
  • Install new Orange with the Standalone installer
  • Run Orange and see under Menu (Help > about)
  • Use the Add-on Manager (Menu Options > Add-ons...) to install Add-on Text and restart.
  • See under Menu (Help > about)
  • Use the Add-on Manager (Menu Options > Add-ons...) to update Orange3 to v3.40 and restart
  • See under Menu (Help > about) and in the Add-on Manager

What's your environment?

  • Operating system: Windows 11 Pro (24H2)
  • Orange version: 3.40.0
  • How you installed Orange: with the Standalone installer
