[BUG] MACROS: Created Notes from Template with wrong destination paths

Hi @chhoumann,

since a few weeks I have a bug with Quick-Add Macros:

Describe the bug
I created diffent Macros with User-Scripts to create notes based on a template.

I defined File name format:
03_Aufgabenmanagement/ToDos/{{VALUE:Extracted_Task_Path}}/{{VALUE:Extracted_Task_ID}}/Note - {{DATE:}} - {{VALUE:Random_ID}}.excalidraw

Settings Template:

Settings Macro:

{{VALUE:Extracted_Task_Path}}, {{VALUE:Extracted_ID_Task}} and Rondom ID = Value from UserScript and variables set correct.

Expected behavior

New note should be in folder:
03_Aufgabenmanagement/ToDos/W-Work/this_is_a_task/Note - 2026-02-23 - a39.excalidraw

but path is:
03_Aufgabenmanagement/ToDos/W-Tanso/03_Aufgabenmanagement/ToDos/W-Tanso/ein_neuer_taesk/Note - 2026-02-23 - w96.excalidraw

This directory of the beginning 03_Aufgabenmanagement/ToDos/W-Tanso/ is complete random.
Sometimes it is put und 00_Journaling/Daily_Notes/03_Aufgabenmanagement/ToDos/W-Tanso/ein_neuer_taesk/Note - 2026-02-23 - w96.excalidraw

Hi @DaKo0990,

Thank you for the detailed report and logs. They were very helpful.

I’ve identified and fixed the issue. The problem was in how Template choices resolved paths when Create in folder was disabled and the File name format already contained folder segments. In some cases, QuickAdd would prepend Obsidian’s default new-note location (or current-note folder) on top of your formatted path, which caused the duplicated/"random" prefixes you saw.

The fix has now been merged: #1118

It will be included in the next QuickAdd release.

If you’d like, once that version is out and you’ve updated, feel free to confirm here. If anything still looks off, please share your current choice JSON and I’ll take a look.
