After talking about the joy of using Chocolatey in class to my students, I was stumped when a student pointed me to the "Getting Started" page looking for the installation instructions!!!

After reviewing it, I have to says that this page has got to be the absolute worst installation instructions page for a "mature product" I have ever seen in the last 35 years !!!

Can't wait to read the rationale behind this very confusing page

The page you are referencing is not about onboarding or installing Chocolatey CLI, but rather information about how Chocolatey CLI works when it is installing, upgrading or uninstalling packages.

As indicated by the header in your screenshot that say How does Chocolatey work?.

Since you mentioned installation istructions, the pages you seem to be after is available on the install page of Chocolatey CLI (https://chocolatey.org/install) which also links to the document https://docs.chocolatey.org/en-us/choco/setup/.

Any reasonable person looking at a URL like https://docs.chocolatey.org/en-us/getting-started/#installation EXPECTS to GET STARTED and INSTALL chocolatey...
