Feature Request

Why does coreos not look for the ignition on a external cdrom

Desired Feature

so basic feature is there a embed ignition no or in kvpctl, govc, virtualbox properties etc?
then look for cdrom drive
mount it
check if there is a .ign file. or look for dedicated file like config.ing
and use that to install it.

Other Information

I was testing with a ignition file.
But there are also preconfigured vm images.
Are there any other software installed/configurated on the preconfigured images? (question 1) if I use a embed iso to install on a vm do I end up with the same as I use a vm image to start with and than a other took like kvpctl, govc, virtualbox properties, etc?

with hyper-v for example you relay on libhvee

I asked chatgpt for option (i know the answer can not be correct) and it suggested using a small cdrom image with a ignition file on it.
so I looked for the proper documentation for it but could not find it. So I Think chatgpt was wrong.

But why is there not a feature like this? or is there?
it is compatible for all vm. You end up small images for instead of big embed iso? (even if the preconfigured images is the same as the iso) it is secure.
