Installation woes on MacOS Sequoia #190

@NigelHambly

Description

@NigelHambly

Trying to do a conda install of CosmoSIS following the standard instructions for a new environment within an existing conda install. All went swimmingly until the

% cosmosis-build-standard-library main

stage at which point it fell over with a "f77 not found". I installed the GNU compiler collection (outside of conda) and exported FC to point to Fortran and got a bit further, but then it barfed at the linking stage with an "ld: library not found for -lm".

MacOS Sequoia 15.4.1
Conda 4.10.1

As already discussed with @joezuntz this is not a major problem (for me at least!) as I have consulted with a friendly local RSE who has created a Docker containerised install that I can use, so no need for any immediate action on this - I simply raise it here FYI.
