actions/checkout@v2 uses node12. GitHub gives a deprecation warning for this since node12 is out of support. actions/checkout@v3 uses node16 by default. https://github.blog/changelog/2022-09-22-github-actions-all-actions-will-begin-running-on-node16-instead-of-node12
