shared project support to include f# language (fsproj)

Just wondering if there will be any support for shproj to be expanded to include the F# lang? I tried looking through the long term strategies of this github project, any relevent issues, as well as other various github projects found that might be related to it, but could not find anywhere on the net that this is in the works. Is there a reason for this? I haven't tested it, but apparently visual studio for mac has this supported, but not the windows version. So far in my current F# projects with Xamarin Forms, I've been wrapping up shared code as a class library, but I do miss the days of C# shproj support as I don't want to continually maintain targeted frameworks for my dependencies between apps on disparate platforms.

I don't see any reason this shouldn't work today for .NET Core projects. I'll need to investigate what is blocking this. MSBuild should just see them as a item groups.

Isn't it more than just an MSBuild? In C#, when shared projects are being referenced, there are toolings that automatically recognize the various platforms targeting that shared project to ensure the code space is supported across the solution; this and along with C# support for developing the code (like intellisense). I mean it would be a step in the right direction if it could be applicable to MSBuild without the tooling.

There is editor support from an IDE perspective. We need to tell the IDE what context the user is currently in. The point is that work should be essentially the same for C# and F#. We shouldn't need to do anything differently based on programming language

I added support in VS for Mac quite a few years ago, there was custom msbuild integration that ensured that the msbuild inputs were prepended to the target project in the right order as F# requires the order defined.

@7sharp9 right but the system that sdk-style projects is built with is entirely different and I expect that this new system shouldn't require large changes
