Description

  • Tried up to v3.8.12 and the problem persists.
  • Running my system with Full Admin rights/Real Admin account
  • Quick Access on Home Page as well as the left panel Pinned Shortcuts disappears, cannot pin anything after that
  • Only way to fix this is to uninstall and reinstall Files again every time it happens
  • System is Windows 10 Pro 22H2 19045.5247
  • (Side Note) Preview build v3.8.12's system tray icon keeps closing on its own even when "keep running in the background" is turned on.
  • so with v3.8.12 I just turned off the options to keep Files running from the background & system tray but still made it as my default File Explorer replacement (I kept these options on the Stable build from the "Classic Installer").

Steps To Reproduce

  1. Just run it normally
  2. Either from Complete Cold Boot System Power On or just a restart - it can happen
  3. Or just leaving the PC to monitors turned off and not even in Sleep/hybernation mode
  4. Occurrence of the issue happens at random situation but way too frequent
