Meeting notices

  • FINOS Project leads are responsible for observing the FINOS guidelines for running project meetings. Project maintainers can find additional resources in the FINOS Maintainers Cheatsheet.

  • All participants in FINOS project meetings are subject to the LF Antitrust Policy, the FINOS Community Code of Conduct and all other FINOS policies.

  • FINOS meetings involve participation by industry competitors, and it is the intention of FINOS and the Linux Foundation to conduct all of its activities in accordance with applicable antitrust and competition laws. It is therefore extremely important that attendees adhere to meeting agendas, and be aware of, and not participate in, any activities that are prohibited under applicable US state, federal or foreign antitrust and competition laws. Please contact legal@finos.org with any questions.

  • FINOS project meetings may be recorded for use solely by the FINOS team for administration purposes. In very limited instances, and with explicit approval, recordings may be made more widely available.

Agenda

Meeting Minutes

  • Per Scholars Pilot:

    • The group agreed in principle to pilot connecting Per Scholars students with FINOS open-source projects via "good first issues,". Plan to initiate contact with maintainers like the one on FDC3.
  • Conference Attendance:

    • Per Sholars received the ticket code and plans to meet with Per Scholars on October 16th to discuss attendance guidance for the New York conference.
  • Monthly Tech Talk Expansion:

    • The monthly technical conversation was identified as an easy next step; the team will explore transforming a virtual session into a FINOS-wide event with participation from multiple banks.
  • SIG Governance:

    • The SIG Charter and Roadmap is nearing completion after offline work with several stakeholders, and this will define the long-term focus.
  • DE SIG Alignment:

    • There was discussion about the DE SIG's DEI subgroup, which focuses on fostering diversity among Distinguished Engineers, showing parallel efforts in talent acceleration and inclusion.

Action Items

  • Eteri Dvalishvili / FINOS:

    • Double-check with the LF team on the expiration date (if any) for the conference ticket code.
  • Rita Chaturvedi:

    • Add proposal (pilot connection/mentorship follow-up and the expanded monthly technical conversation) back onto the agenda for the next meeting.
    • Follow up on the finalization of the SIG Charter and Roadmap after the next necessary meeting.
