This can also be used as a strategy to optimize the groupings of alert rules to lower the number, as there can be a 100 rule limit cap when dealing with Sentry SaaS.
We found, while trying to design a UI, that OR statements get very complicated, very quickly. It can be difficult to know how many nested logic statements there are and how to clearly communicate order of operations.
We're doing some internal testing around configuring alerts with multiple if statements and how we could re-create some aspects of OR logic in a single alert. That said, it's not quite the same as being able to inline OR statements, and are eager to start getting feedback on the new updates!
it's a bit upsetting to see that the requests have been made back in 2023 and there is no solution yet. I don't mean this as a complain, I mean that I am not sure if I should plan waiting for it. Any workaround feels messy tbh.
@liam-eci really sorry it's been a bit for these changes to come out! I agree there haven't been too many visible changes yet. we've been working a lot on improving processing speed and reliability, and revamping our data modeling to support these larger UI / logic changes -- ps, all of these changes are already live!
For the updated UI side, we're actually getting ready to share some of screenshots of the updated flows to gather some feedback and we've started to internally test the new UI. I hope that it can ease your mind and know that we're pushing hard to get these updates released to y'all as soon as we can.
We now support multiple IF conditions per alert - this means that alerts that share the same WHEN condition can have multiple IF/THEN blocks creating the ability to have alerts that following:

@sentryadam0000345 could you explain a little more? There's the
anycondition qualifier which I would think works as an OR condition?sentryadam0000345 commentedon Jul 18, 2023
@barkbarkimashark
Any does support OR, but I was wondering if each filter condition could be it's own expression, such as (A AND Z) or (B AND Z) or (C AND Z)
