What exactly is "Faux-NY" and "Transmit Power"? #233
|
"Transmit Power" I can guess that "the higher the power, the longer distance is possible", but guessing is never a good idea. Do we know the range of min/max power? "Faux-NY" I have no idea what that is. Did I miss any description of these two menu-items? Sorry if I missed any help-files or such, I'm not very used to github. |

@daniel-ch73 Thank you for the questions, I'm so deep in the code that I fail document things that are obvious to me.
Your guess is correct. Higher == further.
The actual range achieved seems to depend on a whole bunch of factors including the build of the device itself. The ESP32 API allows us to go negative as well, down to -12 dBm, but I have not exposed it.
Ha, I did not document this at all, apologies. "FauxNY" is a pun on "Sony", where "faux" is fake.
FauxNY was created so I could:
You definitely did not. |
