By default, with the Google Analytics template, we do not respect the browser's "do not track" setting:

I can't think of a good reason for overriding a visitor's preferences.

I suggest we deprecate this config setting and always respect the visitor's preference.

Many site managers will want the above, I don't think Hugo want to take a morale standpoint here.

But I do agree that respectDoNotTrack can be default true, but I don't think we can remove it.

Heya... the Do Not Track (DNT) imitative has been deprecated for many years and has been removed altogether from Firefox and Safari. It's really not a helpful setting as sites were able to ignore the users preference anyway, and worse still - they could use that setting as a fingerprint in targeting users.

It makes sense to deprecate that setting in Hugo I think, or don't set or include any code relating to it by default at least.

I agree with @bep - the default code that Hugo uses in the template should appear exactly how Google provide it.
