Overview

We want to change _program-area filenames and extensions from -card.yml to .md so that in a future issue

  • these files can be used to generate webpages for each program area file automatically
  • and each webpage will have the desired URL.

Details

  • On this team, we use collections in Jekyll to generate some webpages using Markdown files in a collection and an HTML layout. The webpages' URL is based on the name of the Markdown file.

Action Items

  • Use the __________________ template to create these issues changing -card.yml to .md for each of these files in the _program-areas directory:
    • citizen-engagement-card.yml (This issue has already been created: Change _program-areas Files From -card.yml to .md #7425.)
    • civic-tech-infrastructure-card.yml
    • diversity-equity-inclusion-card.yml
    • environment-card.yml
    • justice-card.yml
    • social-safety-net-card.yml
    • vote-representation-card.yml
    • workforce-development-card.yml
  • For each issue created from the template,
    • As an example, you can view Epic: Change _program-area Files From -card.yml to .md #7424.
    • Replace all 3 instances of [Insert the current name of the file] with the name of the file. For example, citizen-engagement-card.
    • Replace [Insert the name of the file without -card]. For example, if the current name of the file is citizen-engagement-card, then without -card the result will be citizen-engagement.
    • [ ]
    • under the "Child Issues" section, add a link to each issue you created.
  • When all the issues have been created, have a Merge Team member review this issue and its child issues you have created by
    • Moving this issue into the Questions / In Review column.
    • Leaving a new comment in this issue asking for it to be reviewed and providing links to all child issues you have created for this issue.
    • Applying a ready for merge team label to this issue and all the child issues you have created.
