Feature request: enable GPU support

We are about to develop desktop based games and noticed GPUs aren't used w/ Pear applings and couldn't find an option to enable it.

It would be very helpful to allow enabling it. Thank you.

@TracSystems Can you provide a minimal example app that checks for GPU enable/confirms GPU acceleration works for your use-case? I will try a few flags.
