Synology config flow loop: connection issue

The problem

I'm running the beta version of Home Assistant 0.109 (first b1, now b3). In this new version I see an integration with my Synology NAS which I have never set up before (#32704).

I tried to set it up but every time I press submit (after inserting the login info), there is a quick screen refresh and I end up with the same login screen. I tried to check the logs but nothing useful came up.

I tried both SSL settings (on and off) and left the port blank during all tests since I never changed anything here.

Environment

• Home Assistant Core release with the issue: 0.109 (b1 and b3)
• Last working Home Assistant Core release (if known): never used this integration before
• Operating environment (Home Assistant/Supervised/Docker/venv): Home Assistant via Home Assistant OS on a raspberry pi 4 (64 bit)
• Integration causing this issue: Synology NAS

I have the same DSM version as you and it's working well.

Did your NAS got discovered ? or you add the integration manually ?

My CSP is enabled (in Settings -> Security -> Security), try to activate it and add the integration again.

We noticed it there #34633

#34728 should fix the issue if CSP is not enabled.

@Quentame, thanks for the suggestions. Indeed my NAS got automatically discovered. This is new in this version of HA and did not happen before.

I saw the other issue as well, but since version 5 was mentioned there explicitly I thought it would be unrelated. In any case I had already enabled CSP.

I'm not too familiar with the config flows. Is there any way how I could get some logs from what might be going wrong once I click the submit button?

Logs should be at usually place, actually it has a log issue on b1, so test the latest

I get a connection error, but it is quite generic.

I think you have to play with the host, port and ssl params.

When you access DSM from your browser :

• use SSL if https
• use the same host: local/external IP, nas.local, nas.external_dns.com ...
• use the same port

Me I use an external DNS with https and 443 port

In your case, you have a wrong SSL, but it also depends on host and port

Indeed I was using a non-default port for my NAS which caused the issue. It's working now. I should've thought about this but it has been quite a while since I set up my NAS. Thanks in any case for your help.

Not sure if that is even possible, but it would be handy if there would be a small 'Error during login, please check the host and port' popup before going back to the login screen. The current quick refresh makes it feel as if there is something that is going wrong during the config flow.
