would it be possible to remove steam,cargo and other types of package managers from showing with packages. or would I have to just edit the source for it and recompile myself?

Currently there isn't a feature to turn off specific package managers, but I can add a config option if you want

Okay #257 added the --package_minimal option that would hide the non-system package managers. Thanks to @OpenSauce04
