When we choose either the "Least CPU usage" or "Least memory usage" as the server distribution algorithm, does Cronicle gauge the overall CPU/mem load of the server, or is it only considering the CPU/mem load of the active jobs being run by Cronicle? I'm using Cronicle to schedule ETL workflows, however, the script I launch merely hands over the actual execution to one of the persistent app servers, which are run independently from Cronicle. As a result, resource usage reported by Cronicle jobs does not match the actual server load. |

Ah yes, Cronicle v1 only considers the CPU/Mem of running jobs one the machine for the purpose of selecting a server. Thankfully, this has been completely redesigned in Cronicle v2 (Orchestra). It is now based on the overall CPU and Mem in the machine, AND you can customize it further by using the least value from any of your custom monitors: Cronicle v2 (Orchestra) is in very active development and will be released later this year (2025). |
