Support for controllers with n64 layout?

I'm wondering if there is or will be support for controllers with an N64 button layout (like the Brawler64 NSO edition). I've tried using one in wired mode for N64 Wii Virtual Console games, but it doesn't function properly—button inputs are inconsistent and the analog stick frequently "sticks" in one direction even after letting go. Are there plans to add a specific profile for N64-style controllers to fix these mapping and stick issues?

Are these issues specific to tests you did with Joypad OS firmware apps? If so which app you using? Or are these issues when you connect that controller directly to a Wii? Are you using USB2GC on a Wii?
