Testing interaction of default with required

There is no test that validates there is no interaction between default and required.

(Or indeed other keywords, but this looks to be a critical one.)

Good call. That has certainly been a question I've answered multiple times. Having some tests that show that relationship (no interaction) in the tests would be a good addition.
