Is there an equivalent of JSONata for YAML files?

I would like to process a YAML file the same way I process a JSON file with JSONata.

What would be the best approach for using JSONata? Or is there any other tool?

I'm not aware of an equivalent, although I have hit times when it would have been useful; in best case you can do YAML->JSON conversion, use JSONata, then JSON->YAML, but with YAML being a superset of JSON there's scope for loss here.
