Summary of Changes
Hello @changluyi, I'm Gemini Code Assist1! I'm currently reviewing this pull request and will post my feedback shortly. In the meantime, here's a summary to help you and other reviewers quickly get up to speed!
This pull request introduces a bug fix aimed at improving the reliability and reducing the downtime associated with VirtualMachineInstance migrations. The change streamlines the network allocation process during migration by ensuring all relevant pod networks are handled directly, which should resolve issues stemming from selective network processing.
Highlights
- VM Migration Network Handling: The logic within the
handleAddOrUpdateVMIMigration
function has been refined to directly process allpodNets
associated with a VirtualMachineInstanceMigration. Previously, an intermediate filter (needAllocateSubnets
) was applied, which is now removed.

Code Review
The pull request modifies the kubevirt controller to remove the needAllocateSubnets
function call, iterating directly over podNets
instead. This change aims to fix an issue related to migration down time.

The needAllocatePodNets
variable is no longer used after this change. Consider removing it to simplify the code.

What type of this PR
Examples of user facing changes:
During hot migration, there is a possibility that the target pod's annotation kubevirt.io/migrationJobName is not updated in time, resulting in the failure of the lsp option to be successfully delivered.
This annotation is not considered at present, and the migration status is based on the status of the vmiMigration cr.
