Stripe doesn't let you pick basil anymore

Description

When setting up a new Stripe project and then configuring webhooks, they no longer allow you to pick basil.

Would be good to go down 1 of 3 routes?

• Provide some documentation on how to force Stripe to use Basil
• Provide some documentation on how to make Cashier support Clover
• Release a Cashier update which supports Clover?

Steps To Reproduce

• Install Cashier 16 on Laravel 12
• Go to stripe, set up a new account/project and set up the webhooks
• Try set API version to Basil

You can use tinker or even create a console command.

Using Cashier, something like

Same issue. I opened: #1789 , these are the options I've got (note I still am using the same webhook URL as previously), what should I do here?

@zepfietje From what I gather, since I'm unable to change the Stripe version in the Stripe dashboard, I believe Cashier sends the new Stripe version or something along with each request so that it's compatible, I haven't modified anything, but it does worry me that I can't update the Stripe PHP SDK

I am in the process of learning about stripe and the checkout workflow with the intent of using laravel cashier.
And I found about this issue once I tried to configure a webhook in the dashboard , the requests sent by cashier to stripe will cause no problem because the package sends a "Stripe-Version" header with each request telling stripe to use the latest supported version but the problem might happen when stripe sends a request back.

the only solution I found is in the docs itself :

The webhook that is created will use the Stripe API version that your version of Cashier is compatible with. If you would like to use a different Stripe version, you may provide the --api-version option:

php artisan cashier:webhook --api-version="2019-12-03"

But this means you cannot define your own events on stripe dashboard.

When you create the webhook using the artisan command, it will designate the configured events in Cashier. If you edit the destination in the stripe dashboard, you can add/remove events there. Stripe's webhook requests use the version specified for the webhook destination.

So long as Cashier supports the functionality you desire and the version does not lag too much, I view this all as a non-issue. Meanwhile, if somebody required/desired to use a newer version, they could fork Cashier and amend anything there that would be a breaking change in Stripe's version (and those breaking changes do occur regularly with Stripe!).
