This issue roots, like #3137 and #3136, in an old version of aes/aes-gcm used by various webrtc subcrates. They in turn seem to have blocking issues with curve25519-dalek and x25519-dalek. Linking their issue here: webrtc-rs/webrtc#104. Until they resolve there issue there is not much we can do here sadly.

I'm not seeing cpuid-bool in our dependency tree now, can we close this?

Yes, the aes version has been updated in the webrtc subcreates, thus we now only have cpufeatures in our tree.
