Symlink creation

It seems like there is no way to create symlinks via xshell, only hard links. So, there is no way to link a directory.

Is there a reason this is hard or did you merely not get to it?

I guess it might be the same reason as why https://doc.rust-lang.org/std/fs/fn.soft_link.html is deprecated? I don't fully understand whether adding the "obvious" function that would use one of the three suggested replacement functions would be a good or a bad idea.
