If you select "add to archive" and then select "tar", the 'compression methods' dropdown menu is completely cleared. However if you try to switch from tar to any other method it stays cleared and won't reload the compression method options properly.
This is really annoying if the last archive you created was tar, since then the menu starts empty and won't populate unless you just create an archive with whatever default settings it gives you so that it opens with some non-tar archive format on the following load.
