applySnaphshot / applyPatch should show up in action middleware as well?

Possible as predefined actions, e.g. $applySnapshot / $applyPatch ? Or, alternatively, applyPatch / applySnapshot should not be allowed if a tree is protected. But should rather be made part of an action
