[QUESTION] Push when app is inactive

Question. Does the app still receive push notifications from SignalR even though it is inactive or in the background?

I don't think iOS allows keeping connections open when the application is in the background - you can find a few posts on StackOverflow (like this) on this subject. Given that open connections are getting closed at the lower/OS layers SignalR client will not be able to prevent this and will not receive notifications (likely connectionDidClose event with some kind of error will be raised) . If your application really needs to receive notifications when it is in the background you would have to use something like background notifications. Otherwise you could hook up to the applicationDidEnterBackground/applicationWillEnterForeground events to stop/start the client and maybe pull the latest state from the service.
