exec-and-forget bindings with || for focus→workspace fallback broken in 0.20.0-Beta

In AeroSpace 0.19.2-Beta the following binding pattern reliably switched workspaces when focus in a direction failed:

ctrl-alt-cmd-l = ['exec-and-forget aerospace focus right --boundaries-action fail || aerospace workspace next']

After upgrading to 0.20.0-Beta this no longer triggers the fallback workspace switch in real usage, even though the same command chain works when executed directly in a shell (zsh). Attempts to tweak focus parameters did not restore prior behavior.

Affected Bindings

ctrl-alt-cmd-h = ['exec-and-forget aerospace focus left --boundaries-action fail || aerospace workspace prev']
ctrl-alt-cmd-l = ['exec-and-forget aerospace focus right --boundaries-action fail || aerospace workspace next']

Expected Behavior (from 0.19.2-Beta usage)

• When focus <direction> cannot move (edge reached) with --boundaries-action fail, the command exits non-zero causing the || fallback to execute (workspace change).

Actual Behavior in 0.20.0-Beta

• focus <direction> fails when at workspace boundary (no window to focus), but the || fallback does not execute - workspace does not switch despite focus returning an error.
• Shell execution still behaves as expected, confirming the fallback logic itself is fine when parsed by zsh.

Other || Bindings Still Working

Bindings that chain non-focus commands with || (e.g. move + workspace fallback such as:

ctrl-alt-cmd-shift-h = ['exec-and-forget aerospace move left --boundaries all-monitors-outer-frame --boundaries-action stop || aerospace move-node-to-workspace 1 --focus-follows-window']

continue to behave as expected. The issue seems specific to directional focus calls not failing where failure was previously relied upon. I know this is a different scenario but I am using this since I can not move nodes across workspaces on the same monitor for now with that binding.

Reproduction Steps

1. Have exactly two workspaces (e.g. 1 with VS Code, 2 with a terminal).
2. On workspace 1, focus a window at the extreme right edge.
3. Press ctrl-alt-cmd-l with the original binding (no explicit --boundaries).
4. Observe: No workspace switch occurs (focus returns exit code 0, fallback not triggered).
5. Run the equivalent in terminal:

   aerospace focus right --boundaries-action fail || aerospace workspace next

   If truly at boundary, workspace changes (shell handles ||).
6. (Optional verification) Run same focus chain in terminal; observe fallback triggers when focus truly fails.

• Machine: MacBook Air M2 16GB
• macOS: 26.1 (Build 25B78)
• Install method: Homebrew Cask upgrade (brew upgrade aerospace)
• AeroSpace Version Transition: 0.19.2-Beta → 0.20.0-Beta
• Config file location: ~/.aerospace.toml
• Reproduced on: Two separate MacBook Air M2 machines with identical macOS 26.1 (Build 25B78), identical AeroSpace config (file diff = 0), identical workspace/window setup.
