You have to set alignment='same_verif'

In general helpful:

• setting up logging helps a lot to see which verification times and inits are used, see alignment logging.
• specifying dim=[] in verify returns all inits, while at the edges some NaN in triangle shape will appear

Strategies to set verification range:

• use hindcast.sel(init=slice(verif_time_min-lead_max, verif_time_max))
