Fix: win-vind crashed with:

No mapping for the Unicode character exists in the target multi-byte code page / to_insert failed

Root cause: the app converts Unicode text to the system “ANSI” (multi-byte) code page, which can’t represent some characters (e.g., emoji/special symbols), causing an exception and crash.

Workaround / Solution (Windows 10/11):

Control Panel → Region → Administrative tab
Change system locale…
Enable “Beta: Use Unicode UTF-8 for worldwide language support”
Reboot
After enabling UTF-8 system locale, the crash is gone.

Note: this setting may break/garble some legacy non‑Unicode apps; disable it if you hit compatibility issues.
