- in case some dummy axes were included in user layout.
(e.g. someone layout = {xaxis: {}, scene: {xaxis: {}}} in
a 3d-only graph.
- handles plot across cartesian subplots, in a similar way to how gl3d, geo and gl2d module operate.

A first stab at the subplotly.js milestone:
A lot of things are still sluggish when deleting subplots and switching from one subplot type to an other. In addition, the mode bar looks hideous in multi-plot-type graphs. But at least
Plotly.plotwith traces of different plot types works*. I'd call that a good start.*:
gl2dandcartesiansubplots still can mix and mixing anything with polar (oh polar) is asking for trouble.
