Is spelling soundex etc. enabled for search ? How work search ?

• A try with misspelling give different results.
• Could you document the search process ? Some results look funny.

@FabriceSalvaire We use Elasticsearch, I don't believe it supports something like Soundex. Can you give some specific examples of queries that look funny?

Sure Elasticsearch supports soundex and whatever, even Whoosh is able to do it.

I tried arithmetic interval with misspelling.

And task queue, well known Celery appears on the fourth page ! On Google it is a the 5th position and cross-referenced on the first link.

Moreover latest pip 10.0.1 and pypi.org doesn't return the same result for the last query.

Pypi only make sense if searching is relevant. Python developer must be able to find easily projects that match their needs and the most relevant ones. Unfortunately it looks like more a more as a black hole for Python code ( with a lot of upload experiences ... ).
