See the documentation on theming for Reveal.js. Note that by design, resources have to be located within your Quarto projects. |

Can you share more information about what the org-mode reveal theme is? There is a mix of information about reveal.js installation and themes. Do you want to use an external install of reveal.js?
This will be layered with Quarto's own SCSS using SASS. Some CSS can be used, but they need to be passed in the Right now, I don't know much about org mode and reveal, so I can't help further. However, as mentioned, Quarto's first design is to have everything local to the project for reproducibility. Quarto extensions are a way to share common content between projects. Happy to answer further if you can give a bit more context. Thank you ! |

I think I was pretty unclear, sorry! What I want to do is to use an external tool (org-mode) with quarto's customized revealjs themes. My hope is that this will allow me to get used to quarto's customized markup, especially the use of the problem I'm facing is that quarto doesn't provide pre-built css that I can point org-mode at. Org-mode expects a standard revealjs installation with fixed rules for file locations. It looks to me as though quarto has a pretty heavily customized build process -- for instance, in an outputted files, under In any case, I appreciate the offer of hellp and if you have suggestions I would be very glad to hear them! |

Description
I'm slowly trying tto switch to quarto from org-mode, but my fingers get mad at me and I believe the transition will be a slow one. As a first step, I would like to make use of quarto's themes from org-mode.
The org-mode export infrastructure expects to find a standard reveal.js installation at a location stored in
org-re-reveal-root
. It looks for files in thedist/
subfolder of that root location. If (on my mac) I try to setorg-re-reveal-root
to the installation location/Applications/quarto/share/formats/revealjs/reveal/
then, unsurprisingly, no themes are found becausedist/theme
is empty in that location. From what I fan tell, quarto only generates theme.css
files when it performs the export.I would be grateful for any recommendations. Thanks again!
