That is (afaik) the default way how Openlayers handles it. There's a workaround for bboxes in stac-js (i.e. splits the bbox at the antimeridian), but not for geometries, which can get super difficult to do (see e.g. the Python antimeridian package by Pete Gadomski). If someone has a good (and somewhat lightwight) library that can do the work, please let me know and I'm happy to integrate it into ol-stac. Otherwise, this is unlikely to get solved anytime soon.
