`Rust (rls)` doesn't handle `[patch.crates-ui]`

I have the following in my (local) cargo.toml:

[patch.crates-io]
clips = { path = "../clips" }
clips-sys = { path = "../clips-sys" }

pointing to the (unpublished) development versions of those libraries. Building works fine, but RLS gives errors, like on functions that are implemented in the development version, but not in the published version.

Do I have a configuration issue or is this a known (current) limitation?

That's weird, RLS runs Cargo first which should handle all the patch sections. We also watch any Cargo.toml changes and rebuild with Cargo as necessary. Do you start the project with the patch already in Cargo.toml?
