Async request appears to not be reusing http connection

Hi,

I am using async reqwest and I get the following log message for each call to the same endpoint:
[2024-07-17 08:17:28.122655 +10:00] DEBUG [/home/user/.cargo/registry/src/index.crates.io-6f17d22bba15001f/reqwest-0.12.5/src/connect.rs:497] starting new connection: http://10.1.101.77/

So it appears that reqwest is not reusing the http connection

Here is the code snippet:

I have read that the response must be consumed before the http connection is cached in async mode, but I am doing something wrong here.

Any tips?

• Have you configured the client's pooling options? The defaults should mean you can reuse connections.
• Is the server sending back a connection: close header? Or otherwise closing the connection anyways?
• Are you sending many requests concurrently? If no connection is idle, it needs to make a new one.
• Is the time between requests longer than the configured pool idle timeout?

These are just some things I can think of.

Right server is sending back this:
{"connection": "close", "transfer-encoding": "chunked"}

So it looks like the server is closing it anyways.
